Reduce Metro Rail Charges
About The Campaign
Reduce Metro Rail Charges
Friends,
L & T is collecting more charges, violating the norms of the agreement entered with the State Government. The agreement specified clearly minimum traveling charges of Rs.8/- and maximum of Rs.19/-. But, they are collecting minimum charges of Rs.10/- and a maximum of Rs.60/-. People are finding it difficult to travel daily to meet their necessities.
Keeping the difficulty of maintenance of Metro Rail, only through the ticket charges, in view, State Government has allotted 267 acres of land for commercial purpose to create more source of income and the Central Government has released a Viability Gap Fund (VGF) of Rs.1458/- crores to L & T organization. Even after getting commercial land and funds from Governments, L & T is collecting more charges from the people, by violating the norms of the agreement.
L & T has minted money through commercial ads on depots, Metro stations, Pillars, through malls and other sources, before the inauguration of the metro rail itself. Construction activity is not yet started in the old city, Security arrangements and parking facilities are not completed. Their main target is only on the activities which generate more income.
The BJP Government in the centre and TRS Government in the state are supporting this violation, public loot by L & T and enjoying a share.
We demand a reduction in metro charges.
We also demand to start metro rail work in the old city.
Let us move forward for reduction of Metro Charges
For the benefit of the common man
